1st & Sold Community is a high school football scoreboard for North Alabama. This policy explains what the app collects and why.
An anonymous account. The first time you open the live scoreboard or a game, or follow a school, vote or nominate a player, the app creates an anonymous account for you. It has no name, no email and no phone number, just a random ID. It exists so live scores can reach your screen, so one vote counts once, and so your followed schools come back when you reopen the app.
Your name and email, if you sign in with Apple or Google. In the app and on the website, sending in a score asks you to sign in with Apple or Google. Apple shares your name and email with us, or a private relay email if you choose to hide yours. Google shares your name and email. Your name is kept private. You also pick a public name, your handle, which is what other fans see. If you use Google, Google’s sign-in handles that step under its own privacy policy, and we receive only what is listed here.
Schools you follow, and your settings. Your followed schools, your alert choices and your news and sponsor-offer settings are stored against that anonymous ID so they persist.
Votes, nominations and score submissions. What you sent in, and which anonymous ID sent it. Every nomination is read by a person before it appears publicly. Scores you send in can earn points on the public Fans leaderboard, where you are listed by your handle, or as “Anonymous fan” if you have not picked one.
An email address, only if you give us one. After you nominate a player, you can add an email so we can send you Player of the Week results and 1st & Sold news. That is optional and used for nothing else. Site administrators sign in with an emailed link or code; that email is used only to sign them in.
On your device. The app keeps your sign-in, and a copy of the schools you follow, in your browser or app storage, so it remembers you and your schools show up quickly. Neither is used for advertising or tracking.
A notification token, if you allow alerts. When you turn on notifications on your iPhone, Apple gives the app a device token. We store it so we can send the alerts you switched on for the schools you follow, and nothing else. Apple delivers the alerts. Turn notifications off in your iPhone settings, or delete your account, and the token stops being used and is removed.
A school request, if you send one. If you ask us to add a school, we keep the school you named and, only if you give them, your name and email so we can tell you when it is added.
Technical logs. Like any website, the services that run the app keep standard server logs, such as IP address, device and browser type, and the time of a request. They are used to keep the app running and secure.
We use them to run your account, and to contact you about 1st & Sold news, events and offers, by email or by phone if you give us a number. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time, using the contact below.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use third-party advertising, analytics or tracking. We do not ask for your location, your contacts, your photos or your microphone.
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Browsing scores, standings and schedules does not require a name, an email or any personal detail. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Nominations name student athletes and can include their school, position and stats. Every nomination is reviewed by a person before it is published. If you are a player, a parent or a coach and want a name removed, contact us and we will remove it.
The app runs on Vercel and stores data with Supabase. Both hold the data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes. Sign in is provided by Apple and Google.
We keep the information described here until you ask us to delete it. Nominations that are not approved are kept as a record of what was submitted, unless you ask us to delete them.
You can unfollow schools and change your alert settings in the app at any time.
To delete your account in the app, open Profile and tap Delete account. That deletes your account, your name, your email, your followed schools, your settings, your votes and your score submissions. Nominations you sent stay as a record, with your name and email removed. Scores that already went live stay on the board. You can also email us your app ID, shown below, and we will do it for you.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top.
